Ode to Black Bodies (11x17 Riso Print)
Ode to Black Bodies (11x17 Riso Print)
Printed in Brooklyn at Secret Riso Club
Ode to black bodies’ is a piece I wrote a little over a year ago. After learning about the concept of ‘black body’ in astronomy I quickly saw the parallels of my own experience being a Black trans person living in the American Empire. “A black body is an idealized object that absorbs all electromagnetic radiation it comes in contact with.” - (https://lco.global)
I think of how Black people are meant to be the mules for labor, cultural production and the butt of every joke and still expected to keep the peace to toil in support of a country that will never love us back. Im honestly sick of it, and beyond burnt out. As we all continue to turn to each other, to mutual aid and our communities I have began looking for ways to take my work from the screen to the page to your home and got to he chance to print my first riso poster @secret_riso_club with the brilliant guidance of Sabii 💖 I’ll be selling 30 limited editions of these 11x17 prints .
